Caribbean Sun

from Too Late by GrahamShankarjiHunt

about

For most of the 80s I played in a stoner reggae/rock band called Charas, which was the best fun! Halcyon days, playing festivals, clubs and bars around the south of England. This was never a Charas song although we did record a version, but this is my solo version.

lyrics

Come with me
Down to the sea
And we will find
Good company
I’m with you
Beside the blue
I hope you will
Be with me too

Golden sand and coconut tree
Sparkling surf washing over you and me
Fresh pineapple – very juicy
Sun drenched island in the Caribbean Sea

Lazy day
Down by the bay
Let me love you babe
In every single way
You belong
Inside my song
Don’t you know that
The muse is never wrong

Reggae music pumping ‘cross the sand
Smoke a little ganja - groovin’ to the band
Dancing barefoot - skankin’ hand in hand
Feel the one drop in this Caribbean land

See the glory
Burnin’ bright
Feel your soul as it's
Filling up with light
Sunny skies
Where nothing dies
The whole world reflected
Inside of your eyes

In'a disya contest there’s a prize for everyone
It don’t matter when they shoot the starting gun
Ain’t no losers after all is said and done
We get to dance under a Caribbean sun
We get to dance under a Caribbean sun
We get to dance under a Caribbean sun
